APRIL 23, 2012

The Anniversary Auction held on Saturday 21 April was a wonderful success.  Those who attended were entertained by the Channel Christian School Choir ably directed by Mrs Carine Surendorff and a number of musical pieces performed by ensembles of senior students.  The highlight of the musical entertainment was a musical piece entitled “Fortunate” by Sung Up Kang and sung in Korean.

Guests were treated to a mouth-watering selection of desserts that would be a credit to any 3 star Michelin restaurant before the auctioneer Eddie Hoogenhout got bidding underway.

From the first bid to the last fall of the auctioneer’s hammer it was evident those present were committed to blessing the school through their participation.  Under the persuasion of Eddie each item realised a price that honoured the generosity of those who donated products and services.

In speaking of the action the Principal, Ric Peterson, said ‘the auction is a wonderful expression of community.  In the context of the jubilee it is humbling to see people who have actively participated in raising funds for the school for more than 50 years still faithfully involved.  Their generosity of spirit emanates from a shared vision to see Jesus Christ honoured in every part of life and especially in the Christian education provided by Calvin’.

In thanking all who made the evening such a wonderful success we would like to particularly thank and publicly acknowledge the generosity of our sponsors:
