THE SCHOOL

Calvin Continuity

Students enrolling in Calvin Christian School have the opportunity to receive a Christian education from Kindergarten to Year 12 thus benefitting from a continuity of values and expectations.

The Junior School (K-6) provides a safe, supportive and dynamic environment which enables young children to approach school life with enthusiasm, confident that they are loved and valued.

As students enter the Middle School (Year 7-9) they are part of the New Beginnings Programme. The programme ensures that students approach their secondary education with confidence. Year 7 is also the time we welcome all Year 6 students graduating from Channel Christian School into the Calvin Christian School community. All students enrolling at Channel Christian School are automatically enrolled at Calvin Christian School for Years 7-12.

During the College years of Secondary School (Years 10 – 12), students are given an increasing choice in subject selection and are encouraged to take a more independent approach to organisation and learning. Students are given the opportunity to prepare for University as well as participate in Vocational and Workplace Training. Calvin students have an excellent record of high achievement in Years 11 and 12 in the Tasmanian Certificate of Education and success in university entrance exams.

Calvin values the active interest and involvement of their past students and encourages them through the Calvin Old Scholars Association to maintain their links with the school. A number of Calvin Old Scholar activities run throughout each year. These activities provide a dynamic link between the school and the broader community, allowing for regular contact between Calvin graduates. Calvin Old Scholars play an important role in supporting, encouraging and mentoring students.
