OLD SCHOLAR NOMINATED FOR “TOP GRADUATE NURSE IN THE COUNTRY”
Old Scholar Shani Vansant ( Calvin 07) has been nominated for HESTA Graduate Nurse of the Year. “It’s very exciting,” she said. A senior nurse nominated Ms Vansant for the award, which includes a trophy, $5000 prize money and a $5000 education grant for further study. Congratulations Shani!
ANZAC DAY 2012
A visit by eight serving members of 12th 40th Battalion, The Royal Tasmania Regiment and 144 Signal Squadron provided the capstone for Calvin’s ANZAC Day 2012 program. STUDENTS EXPERIENCE ANTARCTICA FROM THE AIR
In January Science Teacher David Dieckfoss and four students from Calvin Christian School had an exciting unforgettable opportunity by flying over Antarctica. We are hoping to increase the number of Tasmanian Students that have the chance to fly next year, particularly in view of Hobart being the “Gateway to the Antarctic“.
CALVIN GRADUATE AMY WATKINS NAMED KINGBOROUGH COUNCIL YOUNG CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
Eighteen-year-old Amy Watkins, a recent Calvin Graduate (2011) took out the Young Citizen of the Year Award for her impressive contribution in assisting youth in Kingborough. Kingborough Council Mayor Dr. Graham Bury was pleased to award Amy, who has been an inspirational role model to younger members of the community.
